Illegal sales and marketing practices were at the heart of whistleblower lawsuits that Amgen has agreed to settle for $780 million.  The marketing, pricing and dosing of Amgen's anemia drugs, Aranesp and Epogen, were at the core of the alleged wrongdoing.  A former Amgen sales rep, Cassie Wasserman, claimed in her whistleblower lawsuit that Amgen overfilled vials with Aranesp and then marketed the drug by suggesting that doctors could receive extra profit by selling the overfills.
