A: If your workplace has workers' compensation insurance or coverage, you cannot sue for damages based on an injury caused by your boss's negligence during the course of your employment. In this type situation, workers' compensation benefits are what is known as the "exclusive remedy" for your work injury. If you are injured by your boss outside of work or if there is no workers' compensation insurance, it is a different situation and the answer may be different.
