The Kentucky False Claims Act (HB 401) was introduced in the Kentucky House on Feb. 14, 2012. It aims to root out fraud against Kentucky's state government by encouraging whistleblowers to come forward, to report fraud and, in certain situations, file suit to recover monies or profits fraudulently obtained by a state government or supplier and keep, depending on the circumstances, 10-30% of the monies recovered.  HB 401 is sponsored by House Speaker Rep. Greg Stumbo, Rep. Susan Westrom, Rep. Robert Damron and a number of other legislators.
