The world's largest engineering firm, CH2M Hill, will pay $18.5 million to settle a time card fraud suit with the federal Department of Energy. The company contracted to perform hazardous and nuclear waste clean-up services at the Hanford Nuclear site in Washington state. However, to pad the company's profits from the deal employees turned in fraudulent time cards, claiming that they worked longer than they had. CH2M Hill admitted that management employees knew about and condoned the fraud.
