Bringing an end to the public phase of a crushingly sad story the family of a Little League baseball player, who suffered brain damage when struck by a line drive off a metal bat, has settled its injury lawsuit against the bat company for $14.5 million.  Steven Domalewski then age 12 was hit in the chest by a batted ball while playing pitcher, suffered cardiac arrest and his brain went without oxygen for 15-20 minutes.  The bat manufacturer was Hillerich & Bradsby of Louisville, Kentucky; Little League was also sued because it had certified the bat as safe for the age group's use.
