States, Labor Department & IRS To Cooperate on Wage & Overtime Enforcement

The federal Department of Labor, the IRS and nine states have announced a new cooperative initiative to improve enforcement of wage and overtime law requirements.  The nine states cooperating include Connecticut, Hawaii, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Utah and Washington.  Particular focus will be on the following industries: hotel, restaurant, janitorial, health care and day care industries.  Read more in the Washington Post, Labor Dept. working with IRS, states to crack down on employee wage violations.
