A $9.1 million settlement in a sex discrimination class action lawsuit against Dell Computers has been reached.  The suit alleged gender discrimination with respect to compensation and promotion of female employees.  $5.6 million of the settlement will be devoted to back pay for female employees that were paid less because of their gender.  $3.5 million will be designated for a pay equity fund for current female employees in management and nonmanagement employees.
