A former assessor's office employee, who previously filed a lawsuit claiming sex discrimination and a violation of the Family Medical Leave Act, claims she was retaliated against and fired based on her lawsuit.

Both federal and Kentucky state law prohibit retaliation against an employee that has reported an incident of discrimination, filed a charge of discrimination with the EEOC or a human rights commission or even filed a lawsuit claiming discrimination.
