A race discrimination suit by employees of a home builder, John Wieland Homes of Atlanta, has been settled for $378,500 and other remedies and relief.  African-American employees claimed in the suit that their opportunities were limited, because the company steered them to specific subdivisions based on the racial make-up of the surrounding neighborhood and, as a result, they earned less commissions than white employees.  In addition to the monetary payment, the company will hire at least 10 African-American management employees in the next six years.
