A $2 million settlement in a whistleblower case against Boeing has been reached. The suit claimed that the company defrauded the government by overbilling it for work done on Air Force planes; the suit alleged that Boeing submitted bills showing that more people worked on the planes than actually did.
The whistleblower, former Boeing employee Edward Quintana, will share in 15-25% of the settlement. Employees of government contractors that blow the whistle on defrauding or overcharging the government can receive 15-25% of the monies recovered under the federal False Claims Act.
