A frivolous lawsuit claiming that orca whales were being held as slaves by SeaWorld has been dismissed by a federal court in San Diego.  The lawsuit claimed frivolously that the orcas were being held in a state of slavery or involuntary servitude in violation of the 13th Amendment to the United States Constitution, which outlawed slavery in our country after the Civil War. With all due respect for the sincerity and motivations behind this frivolous lawsuit, it is silly on its best day to make this type of legal claim. The federal court personnel involved as well as SeaWorld have better things to do with their time than deal with this type of silliness. Furthermore, those that care for the welfare and treatment of animals including orca whales should find better things to do with their time and money.
