Following a hearing officer's stinging rebuke of the Department of Corrections' handling of a merit system promotion and disclosures of the involvement of House Majority Leader Hon. Rocky Adkins (D-Sandy Hook) in the matter, the Lexington Herald-Leader urges reform in this editorial: Keep Lawmakers Out of Merit Hiring.
