A whistleblower suit brought against a practice group of cardiologists in Pennsylvania claims the doctors defrauded Medicare by billing for unnecessary angioplasty and other procedures.  The whistleblower, Dr. Tullio Emanuele, who now practices in Kentucky, alleges that five former colleagues had a kickback scheme with a local medical center and that some of the group had surgical intervention rates more than double that of others in the practice group.
