Class Action For Unpaid Overtime Sought Against Mercedes

A class action lawsuit seeking unpaid overtime compensation on behalf of workers at Mercedes-Benz's Vance, Alabama has been filed in Alabama federal court reports the Birmingham News, "Mercedes Workers Sue For Overtime."  The employees claim that they were required to attend meetings before the start of their shifts and were required to interrupt their breaks to cover for managers.

The federal Fair Labor Standards Act and Kentucky wage and hour law require that employees be compensated for all time they work for their employer's benefit. This includes time that they are required to be at the workplace before their official clock-in time.
