The accident was a head-on collision between a pickup truck and a tractor trailer after the pickup truck crossed the center line. The tractor trailer was not carrying any fuel. Nonetheless, the wreck caused both vehicles to explode in flames and both drivers were killed. The accident happened about 3 p.m. three miles east of Manchester.
The men were identified Tuesday as Richard Napier of Manchester and Jimmie Baker of Bulan by kentucky.com, "Clay County Crash Victims Identified." Napier drove the pickup truck and Baker the tractor-trailer. Neither drug nor alcohol use was suspected.
