Elevator Accident Results in $1 Million Settlement for Family

The family of an Ohio State University student killed by a malfunctioning and defective elevator has reached a settlement with the university for $1 million.  Andy Polakowski was killed in October 2006 when the elevator's main brake malfunctioned.  His family claimed that the university was negligent in maintaining, inspecting and repairing the elevator.
