Farm Workers Settle Unpaid Wages Suit

Farm workers in California have settled a class action lawsuit for unpaid wages for $915,000.  The workers worked in a vineyard which paid them piece rates for the number of vines they tied and pruned.  The lawsuit claimed that the workers were paid under $2 per hour, which violated the minimum wage requirements of the federal Fair Labor Standards Act.  The farm workers were represented by California Rural Legal Assistance.
