Fired VA Radiologist Claims Retaliation for Whistleblowing

Whistleblowers protect the public by reporting wrongdoing and fraud. Whistleblowers have some protections under federal and Kentucky state law.

The former chief radiologist, Dr. Anna Chacko, at the VA hospital in Pittsburgh claims that she was fired because of her whistleblowing activities including her reports that (1) eight veterans were exposed to excessive radiation levels; (2) purchases of expensive and inferior equipment; and, (3) favoritism shown some doctors and employees who were permitted to come and go as they please.
