Hotel Banquet Employees Settle Withheld Tips Case

Hotel banquet employees at a Crowne Plaza hotel in Pittsfield, Massachusetts have settled a class action lawsuit seeking to recover wages that were unlawfully withheld from them. The suit claimed that approximately one-third of the 20% banquet charge to customers was withheld from the banquet charges distributed to the banquet employees. The employees will share approximately $850,000, their portions varying depending on their length of employment.
