Unnecessary heart procedures and harm to patients were the means for massive Medicare and Medicaid fraud at its London facility that St. Joseph's has settled for $16.5 million. The basis for the lawsuit was allegations that doctors at St. Joseph - London performed unneeded heart catheterizations, heart bypass surgeries, installed stents and pacemakers on patients to get money -- millions and millions of dollars from Medicare and Medicaid by way of fraud.
