Overtime Suit Arising from Misclassification Settled for $5 Million

An overtime suit arising from misclassification of technical writers as exempt has been settled for $5 million.  Technical writers claimed that Sun Microsystems had misclassified them as exempt from overtime requirements and had failed to pay them for time they worked when they were supposed to be taking meal breaks.
