Understaffing at Nursing Homes Leads to $670 Million Verdict

If a family member has been mistreated or injured because of poor or negligent care at a Kentucky nursing home, contact Lexington, Kentucky nursing home lawyer Robert Abell at 859-254-7076. Understaffing at nursing homes has led to a $670 million verdict against a nursing home operator in California.  Skilled Healthcare Group Inc. was ordered to pay the verdict because of understaffing at its 22 facilities in California.  California law requires that nursing homes maintain at least 3.2 nursing hours per patient per day.  The judgment came in a class action lawsuit by patients and their families.
