A whistleblower has earned $51.5 million for reporting fraudulent marketing of drugs by Pfizer. A former Pfizer sales representative, John Kopchinski, reported Pfizer's fraudulent marketing of the pain drug, Bextra, in 2003. He was later fired. Because of the whistleblowing activities Pfizer will pay the government $2.3 billion in civil and criminal penalties.
