Whistleblowers and Food Industry Gain Protection

Whistleblowers in the food industry gained protection in the recently passed Food Safety Modernization Act, which is intended to improve the safeguards on our nation's food. The law protects whistleblowers who tell their company or the FDA about activities that they reasonably believe violate the law. Whistleblowers that suffer retaliation can recover their jobs, lost pay and benefits, as well as their attorneys fees, costs and expenses.
