Working Through Breaks & On Call Time Lead To Overtime Lawsuit

Working through breaks and being on-call responsible for monitoring and responding to radio calls has given rise to a class action lawsuit for unpaid wages and overtime by city employees in Plano, Texas.  The employees claim that they are required to monitor and respond to radio calls during their lunch breaks and that they are on call at other times to monitor and respond to radio calls.  These ongoing responsibilities constitute work time for which they are due wages and/or overtime under the federal Fair Labor Standards Act, the suit alleges.
