An employee eligible for FMLA leave from a covered employer is allowed up to a total of 12 work-weeks of unpaid leave during any 12 month period for one or more of the following reasons:
  To take medical leave when the employee is unable to work because of a serious health condition; 
  To care for an immediate family member (spouse, child, or parent) with a serious health condition; or, 
  For the birth or placement of a child for adoption or foster care.

How much leave am I entitled to under the FMLA?
