A whistleblower on abuse and neglect of nursing home residents has filed suit claiming wrongful termination reports the Tulsa World, "Whistleblower Sues Over Her Firing." Diana Harris claims that she reported numerous incidents of abuse and neglect of nursing home residents that was ignored. Only when she indicated that she would report the matters outside the nursing home was she fired the suit claims.
Under Kentucky law it is unlawful to terminate an employee who in good faith reports conditions or events that affect the quality of care afforded a nursing home resident, provided that it is licensed and regulated by the state.
