A survey of medical professionals reveals that ignorance and neglect, along with inadequate training, are the root causes of some 80,000 annual catheter-based blood stream infections (CBSIs), which kill 30,000 Americans each year reports the Washington Post, "Hospital Infection Deaths Caused by Ignorance and Neglect, Survey Finds."
