Too Much Money Makes Court Appear Unfair, Supreme Court Rules

Sometimes is just too much, at least in the area of judicial campaign contributions the Supreme Court ruled Monday in Caperton v. Massey Energy.  You just can't buy too much justice the Court explained, finding it an "extraordinary situation" and advising that:

Just as no man is allowed to be a judge in his own cause, similar fears of bias can arise when-without the consent of the other parties-a man chooses the judge in his own cause.
