Shift managers for the CVS drugstore chain are seeking unpaid overtime compensation in a class action lawsuit filed under the Fair Labor Standards Act in federal court in Louisiana. The lawsuit claims that shift managers were routinely required to work more than 40 hours a week and off the clock to complete duties including compiling administrative reports, operating a cash register, ordering stock, stocking shelves, cleaning, and more.

This case presents the question of whether these shift managers have been misclassified as exempt from overtime pay requirements.
