Nineteen sheriff deputies have sued  the LaPorte County (Indiana) sheriff for overtime compensation due them under the federal Fair Labor Standards Act.  The deputies were assigned to work as security at a monster truck rally and have not been paid the overtime compensation due them.

Federal and Kentucky state law require that all non-exempt employees that work more than 40 hours in a work week be paid overtime compensation for each hour worked more than 40 at one and one-half times their regular hourly rate.
