A whistleblower suit against Federal Express, which claimed that the company wrongly blamed security measures for missed shipping deadlines and got out of paying penalties as a result, has been settled and the company will pay United States government $8 million. The suit was brought under the federal False Claims Act by a former Federal Express employee, who will receive $1.44 million of the settlement.
