Officials are investigating the maintenance and on-board protocol to understand why a transportation ferry failed to slow down properly as it approached Pier 11 in Manhattan. No one was killed, but the crash injured 74, including a 61 year-old-man who was thrown 10 rows as a result of the crash. Many were transported to hospitals as officials gathered at the scene to access the accident. Police said all crew members of the ferry would undergo routine drug and alcohol examination, though neither are suspected as reasons for the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
