A hospital technician, who reported his supervisor's lack of credentials and improper staffing and was fired for it, has won a jury verdict of $2.1 million. Ceferino Doculan had worked more than 20 years at the Bayonne Medical Center when he was assigned a supervisor who lacked the proper credentials. Doculan reported the improper staffing and was later fired. The jury's verdict in the whistleblower case included $80,000 for lost back pay, $60,000 for emotional distress and $2 million in punitive damages.
