An Alabama construction worker injured while building a steel factory due to mechanical failures of a manlift has won a $1.7 million verdict.  Christopher "Brock" Hill was using a manlift to help install an overhead crane when it failed and he fell some 25 feet.  Hill suffered a broken femur in the fall, as well as losing consciousness due to head impact. Hill sued the equipment rental company, All Crane Rental of Alabama, and two other companies for his damages. Included in the verdict was $700,000 in punitive damages against All Crane Rental based on its failure to regularly inspect and maintain the manlift.
