Government contractor fraud has resulted in a $15.4 million settlement in a whistleblower lawsuit. A whistleblower lawsuit under the False Claims Act was filed by Donald Farrow accusing a number of companies and individuals of overcharging the federal government for construction materials by bid-rigging and price-fixing marine hose and marine fenders sold to the Navy and other agencies. The case was settled for $15.4 million.
Whistleblowers under the False Claims Act stand to recover 15-25% of the sums gained by companies, corporations or individuals gained by defrauding the federal government.
