What are "no fault" benefits?
Kentucky has adopted what is referred to as "no fault" car insurance. As applied to everyday real life, this means that each insured can receive up to $10,000 to cover their medical bills and lost wages sustained in an accident, regardless of who was at fault. These "no fault" benefits are also referred to as PIP (Personal Injury Protection) benefits and/or as Basic Reparation Benefits (BRB).
