Who pays PIP?

The insurance company of the driver responsible for the wreck is responsible for paying your PIP benefits.  If they do not pay within 30 days of being notified, your insurance company must then pay your PIP.  Your insurance company will recoup its payouts from the other insurance company.

PIP benefits are sometimes referred to BRBs, which stands for Basic Reparation Benefits.
