Big money affiliated with the Republican Party and the Koch brothers is threatening to hijack the Florida Supreme Court. Three justices, Fred Lewis, Barbara Pariente, and Peggy Quince, are up for what is usually a routine "merit retention" vote that comes up every six years.  All three of the justices have received very high marks for their work from lawyers groups.
