Democratic Senators Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut and Bob Casey of Pennsylvania have introduced a bill that would provide jail time for corporate executives that hide or conceal information that their company's products have or could cause death or serious injury to consumers. This proposed legislation comes in the wake of disclosures that GM had knowledge for many years that defective ignition switches had been linked to a number of fatalities.
