Purina and Milo's Kitchen, two producers of dog treats, are pulling some brands off the market. Some components of the dog treats have not been approved in the United States, but were approved in China and the European Union, where they were manufactured. The antibiotics which were found in some flavors of the treats are not thought to be fatal or dangerous, but simply did not meet United States regulations. However, federal regulators are investigating the side-effects of the treats in dogs as a safety precaution. The FDA is also assisting with the investigation, which is ongoing.
