Joe Jacoby, a former U of L standout, has sued the NFL in federal court in Philadelphia over concussions that he suffered during his playing career. Jacoby was a member of the Redskins' famed "Hog" offensive line.

I met Joe Jacoby and Dick Butkus at a golf course in Tempe, Arizona about 15 years ago. Jacoby, a gentle Giant of astounding size, moved laboriously for a man that age as did Butkus. I can't say what the numerous concussion suits filed by Jacoby and other NFL stars including several Hall of Famers will produce, but they sure prove how hard it was for them to earn their NFL salaries.
