A healthcare fraud whistleblower, Sean Hellein, has joined the U.S. Department of Justice in a $137.5 million settlement in a long-running case against WellCare Health Plans of Tampa. While a senior financial analyst at the company, Hellein secretly recorded meetings where company executives discussed how to double-bill Medicare and Medicaid. Under the federal False Claims Act Hellein will receive 15-25% of the settlement.
