A federal district court judge in eastern Kentucky has ordered coal mining company, Manalapan Mining Company, to stop alerting miners of surprise inspections by federal coal mine safety inspectors.  Judge Greg Van Tatenhove found that the company was alerting the miners in an effort to hide safety violations that the inspectors would otherwise find.
