The Simmons Law Firm of Alton, Illinois sponsored a fund-raising foot race to raise money for cancer research last Saturday, September 22, in downtown Alton. More than 600 runners participated. The event was titled "Miles for Meso" and its purpose was to raise money for research of mesothelioma, a rare form of cancer caused by asbestos exposure.
