A whistleblower suit against Johnson & Johnson claiming that it fraudulently and deceptively marketed the drug Risperdal has gone to trial in Texas.  The whistleblower, Allen Jones, and the Texas Attorney General claim that J & J plundered Texas's Medicaid program by making false statements about the effectiveness, cost and safety of Risperdal.

In previous cases, a South Carolina jury found that J & J had defrauded that state's Medicaid program of $327 million, a Louisiana jury similarly found and its verdict was $258 million.

Portland, Oregon station KGW-TV posted an excellent story on the case: Texas Suit Against J & J Over Drug Goes to Trial.
