The NCAA is asking a federal court to dismiss the lawsuit brought by Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett arising from the penalties imposed by and agreed to by Penn State as a result of the Jerry Sandusky sex abuse scandal.  Last July, in the wake of horrifying details of Sandusky's serial sex abuse of minor children, the NCAA and Penn State agreed to severe penalties for the football program: a $60 million fine and four-year bowl ban.
