The Southeast Louisiana Flood Protection Authority has sued a number of oil and gas companies for billions of dollars of damages for the decades of damage they have done to the Louisiana coastline.  Oil and gas companies have decimated the Louisiana coastline and wetlands in recent decades endangering New Orleans and the rest of south Louisiana to the type of catastrophe inflicted by Hurricane Katrina.  The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports, Historic Lawsuit Seeks Billions of Damages from Oil and Gas Companies For Wetlands Losses as does the Baton Rouge State-Advocate, Suit Seeks Damages From Oil Companies for Coastal Erosion.
