Lawyers for female sales reps for the pharmaceutical giant, Novartis, argued that the jury should assess $190 to $285 million in punitive damages against the company for systematic gender discrimination.  The parties stipulated that the company's worth was $9.5 billion; the amount sought equates with 2-3% of the company's value.
