The federal Department of Labor, the IRS and nine states have announced a new cooperative initiative to improve enforcement of wage and overtime law requirements. The nine states cooperating include Connecticut, Hawaii, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Utah and Washington. Particular focus will be on the following industries: hotel, restaurant, janitorial, health care and day care industries.
